This is how we came into being

Our story

Beginning

In December 1988, in response to the market demand for repairs of railway and tram infrastructure, a limited liability company was registered under the name Przedsiębiorstwo Inżynieryjnych Robót Kolejowych "TOR-KRAK" Sp. Z oo, in Krakow, whose sole shareholder and owner is Mr. Wiesław Niedziela .

 

Initially, Przedsiębiorstwo Inżynieryjnych Robót Kolejowych "TOR-KRAK" Sp. z o. o., focused on the implementation of permanent orders, primarily at HTS SA, in the field of major repairs, medium and current railway tracks and turnouts in the full scope and repairs of the surface on viaducts with the replacement of bridges and sidewalks, as well as a number of other works requiring quick interventions and availability at all departments of HTS SA due to frequent failures and derailments of the rolling stock.

 

Since 1995 Przedsiębiorstwo Inżynieryjnych Robót Kolejowych "TOR-KRAK" Sp. z o. o., extended its expansion and activity to the construction and renovation of railway tracks, apart from HTS SA, also for other investors, such as: Wieliczka Salt Mine, Krakodlew, Metalodlew, Slag Recycling, Złomex, Sambud-2, Mostostal, RenKon or Cementownia Nowa Huta.

First successes

In the meantime Przedsiębiorstwo Inżynieryjnych Robót Kolejowych "TOR-KRAK" Sp. z o. o. acquires its first orders, initially as a subcontractor for the renovation of tram tracks, i.e. the renovation of the track in ul. Mogilska, Aleja Pokoju, ul. Jancarza, Rondo Kocmyrzowski, repairs of tracks in ul. Broniewskiego, ul. Wielicka - reconstruction of the track section in Wielicka Street as part of the so-called Szybkiego Tramwaju and in Os.Wzgórza Krzesławickie, repairs of tracks in ul. Kołodziej Piast, ul. Zakopiańska, repair of turnouts and track sections in the MPK Kraków Depot and in ul. Ujastek, renovation of the track in Grunwaldzka Street in Poznań.

 

In 2000, the Company wins the first contract as a general contractor for the modernization of the track in Aleja Generała Andersa, and in the following years, also as a general contractor, won tenders for the modernization of the track at ul. Saint Martin and at ul. Warszawska in Poznań, reconstruction of tracks and turnouts in the Tram Depot at ul. Forteczna in Poznań, renovation of the track at Al. Włókniarzy in Łódź and renovation of the track / emergency repairs / in ul. Igołomska in Krakow.

Development

The development of the Company and the implementation of modern technologies are still planned for the coming years. It is also planned to extend the scope of services to other cities and regions.

Since the commencement of operations, there has been no case of any major complaints concerning the quality of the services provided by the Company. The company performs the works within the agreed time in accordance with the technical documentation and the applicable Construction Law and other required regulations and standards.
